POTTS, ADA, 95, passed away on June 5, 2011.
She was born in Spider, KY, Knott County, on November 14, 1915, to Henry and Annie Reynolds.
She worked for Cissell Manufacturing, several dry cleaning companies and A. Arnold and Son Moving Company.
She married Clyde (Buddy) Potts at Ft Knox, KY, in 1951, and the two traveled throughout the country until he retired from the U. S. Army, in 1964, at which time they moved back to Louisville. While they traveled she enjoyed participating in the many events and activities that were available to military families. She also loved making cookies every summer for many Vacation Bible Schools. She loved gardening and participating in activities with the China, Burma and India Military Organization, as well as the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites. She was an avid Kentucky Basketball fan. She also loved all of her dogs she had over her life. She often spoke fondly of "Jim", her mule, which she rode to school, in Knott County. Preceded in death by her husband, Clyde (Buddy) Potts; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son , Jim Campbell, Ft Myers, FL; daughter, Marilyn Campbell, Ft Myers, FL, and daughter, Diane Potts Arnold (Lynn) Louisville; sister, Nell Martin, Detroit, MI; and five grandchildren. The family thanks the wonderful staff at Horizon Bay Retirement Community for the beautiful life they gave her since December 2009. The family will receive friends at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Thursday June 9, 2011. Private burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
