HOUK, CHARLES W., 89, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Mary Hospital.

Charles retired from Ford after working at the Truck and Auto Plants for 40 years. He was a member of Local # 862, served in the Army and was a member of Shively Christian Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara May, of 63 years; daughter, Shirley Moberly; and sons, Tommy and Charles Wayne Houk. He is survived by his daughters, Connie M. Weddle (Bruce), of New Albany, IN and Mindy D. Crain (Ronnie); sisters, Betty Slimick ( Ralph) and Pat Dossett (David); eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services celebrating Charles' life will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Visitation: 1-4 p.m., prior to services, with private burial.

The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to Shively Christian Church.
