Elmer L. Stone “Beansy”, 97, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on September 11, 2022. Mr. Stone is a World War II Veteran. He served in the 65th Infantry Division, US Army, 3rd Battalion Headquarters under General Patton and served in Germany, France and Austria. He retired from Alcan Industries and was a talented inventor and tool and die maker. He is loved by all.
Mr. Stone is preceded in death by parents, Joseph William Stone and Mary Elizabeth Clark Stone (the first charter members of Rockford Lane Baptist Church), sister, Dorothy Stone Hoskins, and brothers, William, Robert and Howard Stone. Also preceded in death by first wife, Christelle “Robin” Stone, second wife, Pauline Stone and oldest daughter, Teresa Stone Grimes.
Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Stone, Dorothy Stone, Sylvia Stone Allen (Darwin), son, Ronald Stone (Jane), along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors also include stepdaughters, Linda Bryant (Jimmy), Sharon Petty (Kenny), stepson, Ray Brunson (Carol), along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm.
