James Wright

WRIGHT, JAMES EDWARD SR. "EDDIE," 86, entered into this world on February 20, 1928 to the parents of Julia and Vester Wright of Glasgow, KY. He departed in death to his Savior on April 2, 2014 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. Eddie was a faithful servant of God at Lyons Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member there for 55 years and a deacon for 36 years. He retired from General Electric in 1988 after 36 years and was a graduate of United Electric Institute in 1964. Eddie was a veteran of World War II. He was a third degree Mason of the Blue Lodge in Shively, Kentucky. In 1948 on September 4th, he married the love of his life Jocille (Morrison) Wright, his most loving and dedicated wife. They were married over 65 years and shared a wonderful life together. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Carl, age 6; and a son-in-law, Roger Buckler. He is also survived by his son, James E. Wright Jr. (Ginnie) and his daughter, Donna Jo (Wright) Buckler; grandchildren, Eleanora Lee (Wright) Fridell (Vern), Julia Ann (Wright) Clore (Chad), Kelly Jo (Buckler) Rose (Tim), and Amanda Dawn (Buckler) Crowder (Brandon); and seven great-grandchildren who all adored their "Papa." There are two more great-grandchildren expected in the fall. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lyons Missionary Baptist Church, 904 Gagle Ave., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1 - 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., and after noon Saturday at Lyons Missionary Baptist Church. The family wishes to express gratitude to the caregivers of Elder Care 4 Family and Hosparus for their advice, concern and dedication given at our time of need. In lieu of flowers, expressions may be made to Hosparus or the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.
