Louis B. Thompson, Jr. (Louie), 71, of Danvers, Ma., went home to be with our Lord on Saturday January 8, 2022 in the early morning at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Ma. surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Louisville, Ky. on January 6, 1951, to Louis B. Thompson, Sr. and Mary George (Atcher) Thompson.
He completed 12 years of Catholic education at St. Clement Grade School and Bishop David High School, graduating in the class of 1969.
He moved to Danvers, Ma. with his then wife, Fronie McNichol, just before completing his electrical apprenticeship in Louisville, Ky. in 1976 where he lived most of the last 35 + years.
His talents and skills are too many to mention, but he is best known for his exemplary carpenter and building skills. He was a Master craftsman who built and remodeled multiple homes and buildings in both New England and in Kentucky with such attention to detail. Anyone blessed to have had him do work for them, were beyond pleased with the final product, including many of his family members.
Other loves and talents he had was dancing, singing Bluegrass music with friends and family and playing his guitar, mandolin, and banjo.
He was a wonderful son, brother, Dad, uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Louis B. Thompson, Sr. and his sister, Sheila Jean Thompson and nephew, Christian Alexander Thompson.
He is survived by his Mother, Mary George (Atcher) Thompson, of Louisville, KY., daughter, Molly Pecukonis (Matt) of Sheridan WY, stepdaughter, Sheila Hubbard (Rob) of Rochester, NH and stepson, Chuck Leary (Jody) of China, ME., a godson, Travis Kilroy of Middleton, MA., and five grandchildren-Joe Marcellino, Nick Makepeace, Valerie Hayward, Olivia Leary and Paige Leary.
His siblings- Pam Tucker of New Albany, IN., Teresa Lester (Jim) of Louisville,KY., Bev Garrucio (Rick) of Charlestown, IN., Brenda Thompson of Jeffersonville, IN., Chris Thompson (Tina) of Laconia, IN., and Tony Thompson (Carol) of Vine Grove, KY. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends and acquaintances who all loved him very much and will sorely miss him.
There will be a private funeral service for the immediate family on Tuesday January 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with burial afterwards and a Celebration of Life get together for all family and friends on Saturday January 22, 2022 from 1-4:00 p.m. at Holy Cross High School at 5144 Dixie Hwy. Lou., Ky. 40216.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Louie’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society branch at St. Peter the Apostle Church 5431 Johnsontown Rd. Lou., Ky. 40272.
