HARDY, MARGARITE A. "MARGE," 87, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away in her home on Sunday July 3, 2011 with her family by her side.

Marge was born on January 4, 1924 in Lenoir City, TN. She was the daughter of the late C.E. Lebow and Lillie Pauline Carey. She was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil; half brother, Ray and half sister, Lena.

Marge moved to Louisville, where she worked in a war plant as a "Rosie the Riveter." She later met her late husband Donald T. Hardy and gave birth to three children. She was a hard worker who sacrificed a lot for her beloved children. They were her whole world. She was hired by Liberty National Bank in Louisville where she retired after 27 years as an accountant.

Marge is survived by her three children, Janice A. Lucas-Weiss (Richard), Charles T. Hardy Sr. (Roberta) and Michael L Hardy Sr. She was known as MaMaw, Grandma and Nana by nine grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Marge enjoyed dancing, amusement parks, bowling and going to movies as well as spending time with her family. She also enjoyed road trips and according to her daughter she was "The Greatest Navigator" ever.

She was a devout Catholic with a strong belief in St. Jude. She said the Rosary every day.

A memorial service will was held July 8, 2011 in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Great Neck Chapel.
