Sanders, Robert A. "Bob",65, of Louisville, joined his Heavenly Father at home peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him most on Saturday, November 1, 2014. He was born October 19, 1949 to Robert and Mary Ann Wallace Sanders. Bob was a 1967 graduate of DeSales Catholic High School. He worked at Belknap Hardware & Mfg. Co. until they closed in 1986. He was retired with 40 years of service as a master sergeant from the U.S. Army Reserve 100th Division and served 20 years as a Civilian Employee for the U.S. Army. Bob loved his family and friends, and spending time at Old Hickory Inn, enjoying an adult beverage, commonly known as Makers and water, watching UK sports, Wii bowling or playing the juke box. He was known as the best D.J. because of his eclectic song selections. Bob loved his annual Florida fishing trip with the boys. The verdict is still out on who caught the biggest fish! Bob had an epic laugh that could be heard from a mile away and that warmed hearts and brought a smile to anyone's face. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Judy Bledsoe Sanders.Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Maier Sanders, his daughter Amy O'Connell (Michael),stepdaughter Julie Toler, stepsons Tim Maier (Amanda), Alan Maier (Grace), and Troy Sanders; and grandchildren Brenna, Laney, Ashley, Jay, Hai Hai, Ally, Jessica, Sarah, Josh and Brooke; sisters Sue Metzler (Bud), Becky Humphrey (Carl); brothers Dennis Sanders (Lavonne) and Steve Sanders(Donna).Funeral service will be 11a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Barret and Ellison avenues.
