Aaron Lankford

Aaron M. "Burr" Lankford LANKFORD, AARON M. "BURR," 84, passed away Sunday January 24, 2010 at Jewish Hospital Southwest.
He was born in Barbourville, KY to Joseph and Nellie (Schweingruber) Lankford.
He was a retired customer service agent at Transworld Airlines with 27 years service and was a World War II Army veteran. He served in the European Theatre, receiving two Bronze Stars.
He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church and graduated from Corbin High School, where he remained a lifelong fan, and was an Erskine College graduate.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley (Brooks) Lankford; his children, Cathy Bamforth (Lloyd), David Michael Lankford (Laura) and Susan K. Hare; six grandchildren, Darren Bamforth (Amy), Christopher Lankford (Amanda), Stephanie Hare, Brittany Profumo (Phillip), Rachel Lankford and Stephen Hare; four great-grandchildren, Zachary Bamforth, Michaela Lankford, Corbin Lankford, Devin Profumo; and one brother, Joe H. Lankford.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial is in Louisville Memorial Gardens West, with full military honors. Visitation: 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
