Alan Breeden

September 24, 1951 — January 9, 2018

Alan G. Breeden, 66, loving husband to Debra Lynn (Bradbury) Breeden, passed away on Tuesday January 9, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence W. and Helen Ruth Breeden; and his sister Sandra L. Breeden.
Al previously was employed by International Harvester, the Courier Journal where he retired after 34 years, and finally as a bus driver for JCPS where he retired in December. Al grew up playing all sports in high school and excelled in baseball. (and was even drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies.) He passed that love of the game on to his sons while coaching them through the Beechmont Youth Sports Program and supporting them while playing high school and college baseball.
During the past few years, Al completed all the work required to become a Mason, joined the 740 Suburban Lodge, and just last week was installed as an officer.
He was an active member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church and a previous member of Carlisle Ave. Baptist Church.
Besides his wife of almost 47 years, Deb, he leaves to cherish his memory, his sons; Daniel A. Breeden, Donald E. Breeden (Kristin), and David W. Breeden (Sarah); eight grandchildren--Jonathan, Joshua, Jacob, Logan, Lily, McKenzie, Nathan, and Ethan Breeden. He is also survived by two older sisters, Carolyn R. Fox, Nancy S. Crane (Doug), and by two sisters-in-law he regarded as sisters, Karen and Kristy.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Ormbsy Heights Baptist Church, 2120 Lower Hunters Trace, Louisville, KY 40216.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-7 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.
