BROWNING, ALBERT NICHOLAS "RED," 83, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at his home.
He was born May 6, 1927 in Louisville and lived most of his life in Raywick, KY. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked at the American Tobacco Company and later at the Ford Motor Company, where he retired in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Nicholas Sr. and Mary Edith Browning; and his brothers, William "Mac," James A. "Bud," Joseph C. "Snook," and Charles R. "Bob" Browning.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Hughes Browning; sons, Gary N. (Patty), Michael A., Douglas (Mindi) and Brian (Tammy) Browning; sisters, Theresa Ward, Ann Browning and Mary Rough (Jerry); brothers, John E. (Mary), J. Henry (Ann) and Thomas (Shirley) Browning; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great neighbors and friends.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lowe Hunters Trace, with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Monday and noon-8 p.m. Tuesday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Grand Chapel, 4832 Cane Run Road
