BARKER, ALLEENE MARIE CARDEN, 83, of Louisville, passed away peacefully June 23, 2011 at Hosparus of Louisville.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Silver Notes and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephan.
She is survived by her husband of 64 wonderful years Norman Barker; son, Norman Barker Jr. (Sharon); daughters, Valerie Lockard (Jimmy) and Beth Wheeler (Mike); sisters, Sue Clare and Oneida "Neats" Betts (Gordon); brother Henry "Boots" Carden; grandchildren, Neal Barker, Dawn Kulp, Kristie Jennings, Bradley Barker, Joyce Kulp, Cameron Wheeler, Peyton Wheeler, Allison Wheeler; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mom "Mee-Maw" was artistic and an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed golf, traveling and dancing with Dad. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren and everyone she met.
Her funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at her church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday at Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Road.
