CILIBERTI, ANGELO ANTHONY, MD 79, of Louisville, Clothed by the Glory of God, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at his home. He was born in Astoria, Long Island, NY. He was the youngest of three brothers. He attended Fordham University and New York State College of Medicine in Syracuse NY, where he graduated AOA. He completed a rotating internship and residency at the New York State College of Medicine in Syracuse. He served as a lieutenant commander for four years in the Navy at Portsmouth, VA. He came to Louisville in 1963 as the Associate Dean and as Professor of Medicine at the Univ. of Louisville School of Medicine. In those roles he was part of the education of countless physicians in training and left an indelible mark on the medical community of the Louisville area for the last four decades. He was the former president of the Jewish Hospital Medical Staff and served on the Board of Jewish Hospital. He also served on the Boards of Spalding Univ. and Seven County Services. He spent the last 30 years of his career in direct patient care in a private practice he founded and grew to the largest general internal medicine practice in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerard. He is survived by his former wives, Marie, Cara and Judi; children, Salvatore (Gayle), Richard, Edward, Gregory, Olivia Roehling (John), Maria Ciliberti, Angela Riedling (Shawn), Francesca, Angelo Anthony Jr., Angelo Jack and Angelique; his brother, Vincent; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. 3345 Lexington Road, with private entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
