McRAE, BEATRICE "BEA" METCALF, 90, of Louisville, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012.
She was a devoted homemaker, a member of Highview Baptist Church, a longtime South Park Country Club member, a member of the Key to the City Club, a pinochle club member for over 70 years and a member of the Lotta Chatta Club. She had a firm, strong faith that provided her comfort during her illness and throughout her life.
Bea is preceded in death by her husband; Buford "Shorty" McRae, a son; Stephen Jones, her parents, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by her son; Michael W. Jones (Brenda), grandchildren; Michael P., Lee E. (Monica) and Amy (Major Jason Staraitis). Twin sister; Bernice Slack, nieces, nephews family and friends.
A Celebration of Bea's life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. Interment will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Highview Mission Fund.
