Lane Sr., Benny Lee View/Sign Guest Book LANE, BENNY LEE SR., 81, of Portland, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was a retired Superintendent of Sanitation for the city of Louisville with 35 years of service, and a member of the American Legion Shawnee Post 193. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Helen Carroll Lane; three sons, Benny Jr. ( Faye ), Charles J. (Tracy), and Patrick S. (Sharleen); four daughters, Sandra Langley Duvall (Floyd), Helen McMahan (Jeffery), Kathleen Lane Hickey (Joseph), and Lisa Cox; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 2114 West Market Street with cremation to follow. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
