Bessie Jane Campbell, 95, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on April 28, 2022, with her family and close friends surrounding her.  Bessie was born on May 10, 1927, to the late George Cox and Leonard Turner in Jericho, Kentucky.

Preceding Bessie in death was her loving husband of 73 years, Albert Campbell; stepfather, Al Cox; sisters Virgie Greenwell and Judy Williford; brothers, George Cox and Homer Cox.

Surviving are Bessie’s children, Patricia Newman, Jack Campbell and Carol Conklin; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Bear; and best friends Mike and Bonnie Baugher.

Bessie lived a full life that revolved around her family.  She loved to fish and camp with her husband and family and spoil her dog, Bear.  Bessie surrounded herself with doll and stuffed animals, both of which she had an extensive collection.

Funeral services for Bessie will be held at 11AM on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway with entombment immediately following.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from Noon until 7PM at the funeral home.
