SIMPSON, BETTY JANE, 87, passed away Monday December 20, 2010 at Bee Hive Homes of Smryna, IN.
She was born in Sebastian County, AR to Frank and Artilee (Bonner) Alverson, the youngest of eight children. Betty was a homemaker and a member of Highview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Woodrow "Woody" Simpson, whom she married in 1942 three months after a blind date; also a grandson, Brice Simpson; and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles R. (Nancy Pike) and Jeffrey B. (Jamie Lloyd) Simpson; four grandchildren, Grant, Jessica, Jonathan and Jillian Simpson; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hunter and Grace Simpson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m.
