ARBAUGH, BILLY RAY "WHITEY," 84, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at his home.
He was a native of Sullivan, IN. He was a member of Ralph Avenue Church of Christ, an Army veteran of World War II, Stephensburg Masonic Lodge #212, Louisville Scottish Rite, and Kosair Shrine, Teamsters Local 89, a retired truck driver for O.K. Trucking, past constable of Elizabethtown and an auctioneer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Sherrod Arbaugh; his parents, George and Lucinda Arbaugh Sr.; brother, George Arebaugh Jr., Dennis Arbaugh, Dorletta Wadas and Doris Arbaugh in infancy.
Billy is survived by his stepson, Steve Sherrod and his wife, Karen; his granddaughters, Brandy Nicolas and Jessie Sherrod; his grandson, Kyle Sherrod; great-grandchildren, Jalen, Madison "Maddie" and Kylee; a sister, Patricia Meirer; a special niece and caregiver, Vickie Lee and several other nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; and his children.
His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday until the service.
