STELZIG, BILLY GALE, 80, of Louisville passed away on Sunday March 1, 2009. He was a retired tile setter and an Army veteran of the Korean War. His memberships include, Westport Road Baptist Church, American Legion Post 0180, Disabled American Veterans #149, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1170 and the Grand Masonic Lodge of Kentucky. Billy was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Pete and Delbert Stelzig along with two sisters, Jennye Russom and Ethel Jaquess. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hudson Stelzig; seven children, Sonny Stelzig, Catherine Ceja (Reuben), Michael Hudson (Mary), Pamela Hudson, Jeanna Skeeters (Ted), Richard Hudson (Kim) and Scott Hudson (Gail); one brother, Richard Stelzig (Joyce); three sisters, Agnes Ford (Bud), Betty Compton and Sally Rodgers (John); 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Westport Road at Herr Lane. Burial with military honors will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to any of his membership organizations or to any services that benefit veterans.
