A native of Louisville, he was retired from Reynolds Metals and was a US Marine veteran.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Wright.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Rose Marie Wright; children, Tina Lentz (Patrick), Richard Wright, Leo Wright, Raymond Wright, William Wright ( Andrea), Johnny Wright, and Karen Wright; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Tommy, James and Bobby Wright; and sisters, Maggie Walker and Dot Greene.
Funeral service will be noon Monday at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday.
