Ballinger, Blanche Amelia "Helen" View/Sign Guest Book BALLINGER, BLANCHE "HELEN" AMELIA, 89, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Baptist Hospital East. She was a native of Smiths Grove, KY and the former Blanche "Helen" Dearing. She was a homemaker , member of St. Helen Catholic Church and the OES Bright Star #16. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Joseph W. Ballinger and grandson, Michael Allen Ballinger. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Marie Metzler (Albert) and Francine Ballinger; sons, James "J.W." (Teresa), David (Charlene), Clay (Judy), Jerry (Jane) and Tommy (Diane) Ballinger; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Her funeral Mass will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at her church, 4005 Dixie Hwy, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Sunday at J. E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
