Bobbie Jones

Bobbie Sue Jones, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 4, 2022.  She was born on August 10, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles and Aline (Curtis) Akridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Robin Moore; her grandson, Jamie Moore; and her siblings, Pat, Betty, Anita, Billy, Eddie and Allen.

Left to cherish the memories of Bobbie’s life is her children, Jimmy Newton (Venita), Teresa Yates (Ray), Michael Newton (Karen) and Joey Newton (Michele); her grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Kimberly, Erica, Avery, Amanda, Elizabeth, Joseph, Kristen, Stephanie, Domonic, Jeremy, Dorian and Jordan; her many great grandbabies; and her sister, Alma.

Bobbie was an active member of New Covenant Church of God and loved her Savior Jesus Christ.  She was a fiercely independent woman that worked hard and was heavily involved in her church, teaching Vacation Bible School along with Sunday School.  She was a writer, writing children’s books and poetry.  She enjoyed working with children and babysat more than one can count.

Funeral Services for Bobbie will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Friends may call on the family from 10AM until service time at the funeral home.
