Harris, Carl "Champ",76, passed away September 16, 2015.He was born in Central Barren, IN, he was a member of Briargate Presbyterian Church, retired member of I.B.E.W. Local 369 and a veteran of the Army 100th Division Training Support during the Berlin Crisis.Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Taylor Harris; sisters, Daisy Bowling, Della Long and Dorothy Hammack; and brothers, Charlie and Cread Harris.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce J. Harris; two daughters, Carla Harris Carlton (Chad) and Deanna Lynn Harris; sisters Donetta Keehn, Diana Newerth, Jean Ayres and Doris Polsley Gay; and grandchildren Harper and Clay Carlton.As an electrician he helped build Louisville landmarks. But as a son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, he helped build something more cherished and lasting: a family. He will be deeply missed.Funeral services will be Saturday 1 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens (West). Visitation will be Friday 3-8 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
