Carl Pierce

Pierce, Carl A.,73, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Carl was a former employee of Brown and Williamson (Louisville) and retired from Philip Morris (North Carolina). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Marie Pierce; and grandson, Christian Alexander Thompson.Carl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilma Higdon Pierce; children, Patrick Pierce, Connie Joyce (Chris), Phyllis Downs, Carol Thompson (Tony), Pam Morton; siblings, Raymond "Buddy" Pierce (Mel), Barbara Aubrey, Janet White, John Pierce, Alma Embry (Kenny), George Pierce (Betty), Donnie Pierce; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12pm - 8pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11am (5431 Johnsontown Road) with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
