Blankenship Sr., Carlie Ray View/Sign Guest Book BLANKENSHIP, CARLIE RAY SR., 77, of South Louisville, passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at his residence. He was a native of Russell County KY, a retired driver for the Ready-Mix Concrete IMI, a member of Local 89 and a Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lizzie Blankenship. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Catherine Tucker; a son, Carlie Blankenship Jr. (Debbie); daughters, Lisa Blankenship and Linda Parrish (Ron); brothers, Carson and Charlie Blankenship; a sister Myrtle Robinson; grandchildren, Steven Blankenship (Sharon), Michelle Potts and Savannah Parrish; great-granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Potts; and a host of other friends and loved ones. A celebration of Mr. Blankenship's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady& Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday.
