Carolyn McAllister

McAllister, Carolyn June,78, of Louisville passed from this life on Thursday April 2, 2015 at Norton Pavilion. A native of New Haven, KY, she was born on September 29, 1936 to the late Daniel and Margaret Whelan. She was a former tax preparer for H & R Block, and a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Among others preceding her in death was her son, Marion McAllister, Jr., a brother, Danny Whelan; and a sister, Catherine Whelan. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Marion McAllister; daughters, Cindy Starck (Jack), Cathy Smothers (Danny), Debbie Miller (Ernie), Margie Embry (Bill), and Lisa Harper (Jerry); sons, Steven, David (Marcy), and Kelley McAllister; brother, Thomas Whalen; sisters, Janice Fanning, Barbara Brocar, Susan Gerding, and Peggy Whalen; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.A Mass of celebration for June will be held at 10 am Wednesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3509 Taylor Blvd. with entombment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. from 4-8 pm Monday and 2-8 pm Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus Of Louisville.
