Carrie Elizabeth Snawder SNAWDER, CARRIE ELIZABETH, born May 21, 1918, died on Monday, February 15, 2010 at her home.
She resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Donald E. and Joyce M. Akridge, of Vienna, IL since 1996.
She was a homemaker and member of West Point Baptist Church. Carrie was the mother of seven children and was blessed with 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Harold F. (Billie) Snawder, of Louisville and Bobby R. Snawder, also of Louisville; daughters, Joyce M. (Donald) Akridge of Vienna IL, Lois L. (Gary) Tilton of IN and Lori N. (Karl) Steinsholt of Inman, SC; as well as one sister, Thelma Spahn, of Largo, FL. She had two sisters-in-law, Pansy Hibbs and Mary Ann Hibbs, both of Louisville and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Lush and Don Phillips.
Carrie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Nelson E. Snawder; and two sons, Dr. Kenneth D. Snawder and Jerry W. Snawder. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, James, William, Luke Jr. and Arthur Hibbs; and three sisters, Pearl Badger, Lucille Phillips and JoAnn Lush.
Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday with the funeral following at 1 p.m. at the W. G. Hardy Funeral Home, 10907 Dixie Hwy with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
