THURMAN, CELIA LOUISE, 92, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Baptist Hospital East.
Louise was a volunteer at Baptist Hospital East for 30 years and a longtime member of Parkland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Beaven L. Thurman; her father, Walter Fondern Sr.; her mother, Clara Mae Goodman; brother, Walter Fondern Jr.; and a sister, Alverna Thompson.
She is survived by her children, James E. Thurman and Joyce A. Williams; two sisters, Dorothy Jaggers (Willie) and Hazel Hess (Carl); brother, Elbert Goodman (Betty); grandchildren, Mindy Ellis (Steve), Michael Thurman, Jason Thurman (Stacy), Dana Skidmore (Gary) and David Williams (Megan); and great-grandchildren, Sam, Maddie, Brooke, Heather, Sarah Jayne, Sophie and Graham.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the O. D. White & Sons Funeral with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank those at Klondike Manor who helped care for their mother in the last six years.
Memorial donations may be made to Parkland Baptist Church.
