Charles Joseph Farrell

Charles J. Farrell (CJ), 90, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023,  at The Springs at Oldham Reserve in La Grange, Kentucky.

Born in Dallas, Oregon on January 8, 1933, he is the son of the late Stoe and Mary Farrell. He was raised in Turner, Oregon and he proudly served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955.  This is also where CJ met his beloved wife, Jeanne, in San Francisco. 

He was the owner of C.J. Farrell & Son Inc., a Louisville based company that held interests in trucking (Rogers Cartage Co.), real estate and drag racing. CJ loved NHRA Racing,  which he greatly enjoyed with his son, Michael. He cherished all the friendships and memories made during his years at racetracks across the United States. 

CJ loved to travel with his wife, Jeanne, and enjoyed his many trips back to Oregon to visit with his family and friends. CJ will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Beliveau Farrell and survived by his daughters, Karen J. Farrell-Howard (Rick) and Sylvie M. Farrell; his son, Michael D. Farrell (Brenda) and two grandsons Conner J. Farrell and Charlie D. Rosenblit.

A Funeral Service will be held in CJ's honor on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 6PM at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes East, 11601 Ballardsville Road.  Interment will be at 10AM on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Friends may call on the family from 10AM until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in CJ's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
