Charles A. "Shorty" Haysley HAYSLEY, CHARLES A. "SHORTY," 75, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Summerfield Manor Health & Rehabilitation.
He was a retired cabinet maker for H.J. Schierich, a steel guitarist, member of St. Peter the Apostle and American Legion Post #220 and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances; daughter, Donna Marie; and brothers, Melvin, Louie and Carroll.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lois (Phillips) Haysley; sons, Steve and Russell Haysley (Toni); daughters, Tracy Grant (Donnie), Jenifer Hurtgen (David) and Jeanine Luck (Terry); brother, Robert Haysley; sisters, Sylvia Fiestner, Shirley Napier, Ann Dunman, Louise Downey, Christine Robinson and Joan Thacker; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and also raised two grandchildren, Benjamin and Andrew Alcorn.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ratterman Grand Chapels-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society .
