Charles Robert Story "Bob" Share E-mail Visit Guest Book STORY, CHARLES ROBERT , "BOB," 68, lost his heroic fight on Monday, August 31, 2009 peacefully surrounded at his home by his cherished wife, treasured children, adored grandchildren and siblings.
His indomitable spirit never flagged throughout his long struggle with Multiple Myeloma. He was an inspiration, a role model, a special friend, a revered patriarch and a man of gentle and generous spirit who will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He will be best remembered for his kind heart, warm and caring ways and witty personality. He was the founding owner of Atlas Siding and Window Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. and Thelma Gray Story and the mother of his children, Linda Mae Hicks Story.
Survivors include wife, Muffin Meyer Story; daughter, Kelly Gamlin (Matt); grandsons, Scott and Brandon Hartfield; daughter, Robbin Jones (David); grandchildren, Trent and Macy; son, Charles Robert "Chuck" Story Jr. (Stacy); granddaughters, Jalen, Jenna, and Jansen; brothers, Joseph W. "Bill" and Thomas E. Story; and sister, Linda Ann Story.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Drs. Roger and Jeffrey Herzig and their nursing staff for the excellent care they provided.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with entombment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be noon - 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and after noon on Friday.
