Charles Wimsatt

Charles L. "L.C." Wimsatt WIMSATT, CHARLES L. "L.C.," 88, of Louisville, passed from this life on Wednesday February 10, 2010 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
He was a native of Springfield, KY, a retired employee of General Electric, a member of St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, and a Army veteran of World War II, where he received a Purple Heart and a Silver and Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Woosley Wimsatt; and three sisters and six brothers.
He is survived by his brothers, Charles (Gonza) Wimsatt and Albert Wimsatt; a stepdaughter, Rhu Hayes (Kenton); and five grandchildren.
A funeral Mass to celebrate Mr. Wimsatt's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 1816 Rangeland Road, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3601 Taylor Blvd. from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial gifts may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
