ROBY, CHARLOTTE KAYE, 50, a lifelong resident of La Grange, our most treasured gift, passed softly into God's hands September 28, 2010 with her daughters by her side. This came after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Charlotte graduated from Oldham County High School in 1978. Charlotte and her former husband of 27 years, Chuck Roby, co-owned A-1 garage door service. Charlotte loved working at GeriMed in Louisville. Charlotte loved entertaining her family and friends. Charlotte's huge heart, smile and spirit shall live on with us forever! Charlotte gave so freely of herself to any who came in contact with her. We are so grateful and blessed to have had her as part of our lives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Robinson.
Charlotte is survived by her companion, Scott Halmess; father, Charles Robinson Sr.; grandmother, Ada Robinson; two daughters, Amy Monroe (Darryl) and Amanda Freiberger (Joel); sister, Debbie Burgan (J.T.); brother, Charles Robinson Jr. (Tammy); two granddaughters, Chassidy Monroe and Lauren Kirkham; and two grandsons, Wyatt and Clayton Freiberger.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at Oldham County Funeral Home, 706 W. Jefferson St., La Grange, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or Hosparus of Louisville, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Way, Louisville, KY 40205, in her memory.
