ESTES, CHESTER L., 88, of Louisville, formerly of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the home of his daughter.
He was an avid gardener all of his life and loved to fish. He was a route salesman for Borden Ice Cream Co. for 20 years and a warehouseman for S & T Hardware for 20 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II (Normandy Invasion).
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Elizabeth Estes; son, Chester "Butch" Estes Jr.; and daughter-in-law Phyllis Estes.
He is survived by a daughter, Rita M. McKinley (Curt); sons, Roger W. Estes and Danny C. Estes (Jean); daughter-in-law, Sara R. Estes; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Wednesday.
