Niemeier, Christine Brown View/Sign Guest Book NIEMEIER, CHRISTINE BROWN, 70, of Portland, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Meade County and a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H. Niemeier Jr.; two sisters, Josephine Gilpin and Betty Damron; and nephew, Frank D. Damron Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Anthony "Steve" Polio (Melissa) and John R. Niemeier (April); sister, Rose Lowery; two brothers, Chester "Lucky" Brown and Danny Armstrong (Jamie); a special friend who was like a daughter, Theresa Campbell and her family; eight grandchildren, Steven (Candice), Stephanie, Catherine, Cesalie and Sophia Polio, Blake Embry, and Carly and Kara Niemeier; a great-grandson, Anthony Polio; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be noon Friday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons, 2114 West Market St., followed by burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
