DIXON, CLARENCE KAY JR., MD, 87, of Louisville, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at Baptist Hospital East.
Born in Paoli, IN, he was a Navy World War II veteran, where he served as Pharmacist's Mate 1st Class. He was a retired family practice physician for 43 years and served on the board of directors at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Kay Sr. and Carrie Kathleen Dixon; brother, Harvey Joseph Dixon; sisters, Louise Boggs, Jane Godbey and Lelah Cochran; and grandson, Jack Henry Evans.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bettye Young; sons, Danny Dixon (Corinne) and Clancy Dixon; daughters, Linda Knutson (Carl), Rebecca Dixon, Kathy Dixon Cunningham (Mark) and Elisabeth Evans Watson (Greg); 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Highlands.
