Messinger, Clarence L. View/Sign Guest Book MESSINGER, CLARENCE L., 84, of Louisville, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, at Norton Hospital. He was a retired employee of the Louisville Gas & Electric Company, a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea and a member of Bethany United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clyde Flenor Messinger. He is survived by a son, Gary Messinger (Joyce); daughters, Phyllis Ringenberg (Art), Sharon Hopkins (Dennis) and Paulette Strotman (Bruce); 13 grandchildren, including Tina Applegate, Missy Hyde, Timmy Hopkins, Kim Murray, Heather, Sarah and Aaron Strotman; and 21 great-grandchildren, including Zach Hyde, Cierra Hopkins, Jackson Murray, Lenny and Amelia Applegate. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany United Church of Christ, 10400 Old Preston Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Garden West. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway and after 10 a.m. Thursday at his church. Memorial gifts may be made to Bethany United Church of Christ.
