Ruffra, Clarence J. View/Sign Guest Book Donate Now RUFFRA, CLARENCE J., 78, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Arden Courts of Louisville, with his family by his side. He was a retired master sergeant from the Kentucky Air National Guard with 26 years of service, and also a retiree from the Jefferson County Sheriff's department with 10 years of service, and a member of F.O.P. Lodge #25. He had worked for the City of Shively and the Louisville Revenue Commission. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran in the Korean conflict and Vietnam. Clarence was a member of the Louisville Chapter #381 O.E.S., American Legion Post #220, Okolona Masonic Lodge #853 F. & A.M., past chairman of the 44th Legislative Democratic District, past member of the Louisville & Jefferson County Democratic Executive Board, and a member of the 1992 Kentucky Electorial College. Clarence was also a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Jean Saultzman Ruffra. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Marty Littlejohn (Marvin), Linda Ruffra Cobb and Joni Ruffra Wiegand (John); brothers, Bill (Pat) and Albert (Pat) Ruffra; grandchildren, Corey Wood (Kathy), Brittany and Amy Littlejohn, Brandon, Bethany and Bryant Cobb and Bryan, Brittany, Blair, Caleb and Hannah Wiegand; and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Wood. His Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Gabriel, 8409 Hudson Lane, Louisville, on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 11 a.m., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. The family would like expressions of sympathy to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the charity of your choice.
