Thompson, Claude Nathan David View/Sign Guest Book THOMPSON, CLAUDE NATHAN DAVID, 84, beloved husband of Frances Irene Thompson, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008. Claude graduated from Male High School and the University of Louisville. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre for 32 months as a Marine Infantry sergeant. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, The Purple Heart, Presidential Citation Ribbon, four Combat Stars and various campaign medals. He participated in the invasion of Tarawa in the Gilbert Islands, Saipan and Tinian in the Marianas Islands and the Island of Okinawa. He retired from the Louisville Works DuPont Plant after 32 years as a Production and Employee Relations supervisor. Claude attended Shively Christian Church where he served his Lord as a deacon for 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Irene; four sons, David, Richard, Andrew and Randal; daughter, Christy Dilbeck; and grandchildren, Amy Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Drew Thompson, Ryan Dilbeck, Allie Thompson and Matthew Dilbeck. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Shively Christian Church, 1822 Kendall Lane, with Bro. Rob Grandi and Bro. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
