Dan Cook, 81, of Louisville, husband of Betty L. Cook, died Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was born in Meade County, Ky. July 12, 1937 the son of the late Charles E. & Elizabeth Bennett Cook.

Dan retired from the Louisville Water Company after 30 years. He was also a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.

Besides his wife of 40 years he leaves to cherish his memory, children, Tammy Sizemore (Kenny), Melissa Pendleton, Mona Mason (Tom), Debra McNutt (Jodie) and Gerald Cook Jr. (Michele), step-children, Joyce Mills, Lula Miller, Bill Wilkins (Shirley), Linda Strange (Doug) and Marie Strange (Steve), sister, Ramona Wilkins, brothers, Joseph Cook (Marlene) and Charles Cook. 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. Dan was preceded in death by one grandson.

A service celebrating Dan’s life will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Visitation will be from 11 to 7 on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family has kindly suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society.
