GRIGGS, DAVID L., "PAW-PAW," 65, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013. He was born on June 1, 1948 in Louisville, the son of the late James and Alice Griggs. David was a retired U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan with 30+ years of service to his country. He also served time in the U.S. Navy. He was a civil service employee, heavy equipment diesel mechanic at Fort Knox for over 20 years. David was a Mason, he liked wood carving, hanging out at Walmart, Home Depot and the flea market. He was a die-hard Louisville Cardinal fan. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Albert Anthony. David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Brenda Griggs; his children, Curtis, Cindorrie, Tanyeka and Knanisha; siblings, Albert, Troy, Richard, Johnny, Dorothy and Alberta ; Big Sis and Bro; a host of grandchildren, a great-grandchild, other family, many friends, and two loyal pets, Blackberry and Bobo. David's funeral services will be held Friday, August 30, 2013 beginning with the visitation at 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Louis Coleman Jr. Dr. Entombment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
