SCHANK, DAVID V., 61, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011. He was will be greatly missed.
David was a professional driver with Roadway for 30 years, and then most recently with Jefferson County Public Schools. He was a Navy veteran, a member of the St. Martins Brotherhood, J&H Sportsman's Club, the Teamsters, Harley Davidson Owners Group, and a 1968 graduate of Trinity High School.
David leaves behind his loving wife, Fay (Skaggs) Schank; sons, Stephen (Adonna), Scott (Ann) and Adam Schank; stepsons, Mike Jackson (Carla) and Dale Gillon (Beth); 10 grandchildren; brothers, Phil (Gail), Mark (Donna) and Greg (Amy) Schank; sisters, Barbara Stewart (Bill), Martha Jean Wimsatt (Jack), Mary Virginia Wilson Cole (Alan), Bea Orkies, Suzanne Dugan (Fred), Kathleen Cashon (Dale), Ann Wallace and Sarah Schank; 27 nephews and nieces; as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral service will be held noon Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday prior to the funeral services.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society , 701 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40203.
