David Whalen

David Michael Whalen, 73, husband to the late Barbara (Soards) Whalen, passed away on Thursday May 6, 2021 at Westport Place Nursing Home.

He was born to the late Earl Joseph and Lucille (Smith) Whalen in Louisville on October 3, 1947.

David worked as counter salesperson for Whayne Supply, which was a family affair, with a combined 110 years of service between himself, his wife, his father, and father-in-law.  He was also an Army veteran and served in Korea.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Whalen (Jessica), Kyle Whalen (Julie) along with grandchildren Nathan Whalen, Levi Whalen, Madison Amy (Cody) and Atlas Whalen.  He will also be missed by his beloved sister, Barbara Whalen.

A gathering will be held Monday from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.

Due to COVID restrictions, masks are required during the gathering and social distancing is expected.
