Delmar Mitchell

MITCHELL, DELMAR C., 90, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014. He was a member of Shawnee Christian Church, a G.E. retiree after 33 years, and a World War II Navy veteran who enjoyed golf and UK basketball. Delmar is survived by his wife of 70 years, Roberta Lois (Goben) Mitchell; children, Marilynn Lighter, Brenda Watson, Roger Mitchell (Carolyn), and Gary Mitchell (Marsha); seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Robert and James Lynn. Funeral services for Delmar will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may go to Hosparus or to his church.
