LOGSDON, DEWEY MARIE MILLS, 92, passed into the arms of our loving Lord on July 1, 2011.

Dewey was born in Artemus, KY on September 24, 1918 to John Wesley and Cordie Hammons Mills. She was one of eight children. Sisters, Audrey, Artrice, Chelsea and Beatrice; and brothers, Hobart, Nasby and T.G., preceded her in death.

She met Howard Denney Logsdon while visiting a sister in Loyal, KY and they were married on September 3, 1937. Their daughter, Patsy Eldora, was born in 1939 in Loyal and their son, Howard Douglas, was born in 1953 in Benham, KY, where the couple lived from 1944-1962. The family moved to Louisville, where Dewey was surrounded by her brothers and sisters. She worked for short periods in a variety of jobs in Louisville. She was an avid bowler for many years, an expert quilter and seamstress and was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. A few years after her husband of 49 years passed away, she moved to Fairdale, KY, where she was active in the Fairdale Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Greg Devejian), grandchildren, Leslie Cosimi (Mark) and great-grandchildren, Reese, Ryan and Riley; Lynn Roessler (Keith), granddaughter, Nicolette Casele (partner, Kevin Hunter); grandson, Steven Devejian (Susie); her son, Doug (Kelly), grandchildren, Melissa Logsdon, great-grandchildren, Cody and Jasmine Skidmore, granddaughter, Christy Lloyd (Derek) and grandson Robbie (fiancee Samantha Dearinger); many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Jackie Mills.

"Dewey Logsdon was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were more precious to her than anything else in her life/ She was always there whenever any of us needed her and we will miss her so very much." Funeral service: noon Thursday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road, with internment at Louisville Memorial Gardens, Louisville, immediately following. Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, with open viewing, 5-8 p.m.
