MONKS, DONALD EDWARD, 69, passed away Monday April 18, 2011 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
He was a retired machine operator / painter for the old International Harvester now Navistar International. He was also a Navy veteran and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur G. and Mary Hessie (Langley) Monks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia "Pat" (Kelly) Monks; a son and daughter, Kevin Monks (Brandi) and Kelly Beeler (Bill); four grandchildren, Amber Clark, Michelle Monks, Haleigh Monks and Madison Beeler; one sister, Carolyn "Sissy" Prewitt; two brothers, his twin brother, Ronald Monks (Shirley) and Arthur "Gleason" Monks Jr. (Donna); and his mother-in-law, Edna Kelly.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial is in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: Wednesday, 1 to 9 p.m.
