ROUGH, DONALD "DONNIE" SR., 75, passed away August 12, 2012 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a retired grocery clerk from Kroger after 28 years of service, also was a retired union representative for the UFCW Local 227 after 10 years of service. He belonged to the Senior Club at Incarnation Church, was a chaplain for the Sheriffs Lodge Auxiliary and part time employee of Jefferson Special Security Services and a member of LMPOA Auxiliary. He was a former member of The Knights of St. John. He grew up in Our Lady Church Parish and was a member of St. Denis Church for 39 years and a member of Sts. Simon & Jude. He was a graduate of Flaget High School class of 1955 and grew up in Portland "and proud of it!" He was predeceased by his parents, Hearl and Mary Rough; also a brother, Porky Rough.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Rough; children, Kathy McMichael (Al), Donald "Butch" Rough Jr. (Cindy), Patty Rough and Charlie "Chaz" Rough (Connie); brother, Jerry Rough; sisters, Mary Ann Rough and Libby Franke; grandchildren, Jackie Tinnell, Aimee McDonald, Michael Renck, Ambrea Rough, Donnie Rough, Johnny and Shaun Gay and Noah and Olivia Rough; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Bryce, Kyndal, Chandler, Annabelle, Jude and Eva.
His funeral service will be Friday, 10 a.m. at Sts. Simon & Jude, 4335 Hazelwood Ave., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3-8 p.m. and Thursday, noon- 8 p.m. at Ratterman Grand Chapels , 4832 Cane Run Road.
