Dorothy "Doylene" Bruce BRUCE, DOROTHY "DOYLENE," 82, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was a retired lab administrator for Brown and Williamson. She was an active member of the Mose Green Democratic Club and the Teamsters Local 89 Retirees Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace W. Bruce; stepsons, Stanley Joe Bruce and Mark S. Bruce; mother, Agnes Myatt; sister, Mary Louise Wilmot; and brother, Edward "Sonny" Myatt.
She is survived by her stepson, Kenneth W. Bruce (Barbara); nephew, whom she raised as her son, George "Joey" Elam (Elaine); grandchildren, Cheryl (James), Angela (Bo) and Stephanie; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ann Jones (Kenny); sister-in-law, Elizabeth Myatt; daughter-in-law, Diane Bruce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 10 a.m. at J. E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010.
