STEMM, DOROTHY MAE, of Portland, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
She was a graduate of Ahrens Trade High School and a former employee of the old Baer Fabrics and Bacons Dept. Store. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Parish and Women of Good Shepherd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Stemm; two daughters, Joan Wilson and Mary Lou Stemm; brothers, Gordon and Tommy Wallace; and sisters, Mary Ann Sanders and Ida O'Connell.
Survivors include a son, George Joseph Stemm (Denise); four daughters, Bonnie Jean Carpenter (Richard), Delores Ann Boyle (Bob), Martha Jane Bartlett (Ken) and Marjorie Ann Baird (Kelly); three sisters, Elizabeth Malick, Margaret Williams and Betty Board; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Shepherd Parish (formerly Church of Our Lady), 3511 Rudd Ave., followed burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons, 2114 W. Market
