Dorothy Tolhurst

Dorothy Ann Tolhurst, 78, wife to the late Jack Tolhurst, passed away on Saturday March 6, 2021 at UL Hospital.  She was born to the late Allen and Virginia (Doore) Mathus in Louisville on December 29, 1942.  She is also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mathus.

Dorothy worked for the produce market owned and operated by her parents.  She loved working outside in her garden and with her chickens and ducks.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, James Self (Sharon), Janie Ritchey (Lonnie), Darlene Davis, and Debra See (Edwin) and her sister Barbara Downs (William).

She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Ron Gibbs, Christopher Ritchey, Michael Self, Nikki Bowyer, Jessica Ritchey, Ginny Fuchs along with 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 am until time of service.

Due to COVID restrictions, masks are to be worn at all times and social distancing is expected.
