81, of Iroquois Park returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his son, Earl Jr., his parents and brother.

Mr. Roth retired from L & N Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a well known evangelist who reached many people through various ministries in his community including Chaplin at Wayside Mission, serving the homeless community, prison ministry at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women, the Samaritan Patrol and other various community boards. Mr. Roth was known for his dedication to serving the lord, sense of humor, warmth, and kind heart.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mildred (Waldrews) Roth; daughters, Sharon Morrison (Steve), Carolyn Downey, Frances Coleman; sons, Gary (Debbie), Douglas (April) and Greg Roth; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Helen Midkiff; brother, Charles Roth and a host of other family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be conducted noon on Monday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road use John Harper entrance) with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects from 11am until 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm until 8 pm at Schoppenhorst.
